SCOPE:

Since 2014, we have been teaching and sharing knowledge about trees, forests, timber, and landscapes across universities, professional practices, and public audiences. Our work spans guest lectures, seminars, continuing professional development (CPD), speaking engagements, and immersive field trips, all aimed at making forestry and timber knowledge accessible, practical, and relevant to a wide range of learners and sectors.

DELIVERY:

Our approach combines practical insight, academic rigour, and interactive engagement:

Teaching & Seminars:
We balance technical instruction — including timber properties, silviculture, and forest policy — with discussion-led seminars that explore the future of landscapes, material provision, and treescapes. Sessions often evolve into 1:1 tutorials or ad-hoc advice on student research and design projects.

CPD for Professionals:
Our sessions are flexible and targeted, tailored to the interests and questions of studios or teams. Recent clients include Architype, Ramboll, Architecture for London, and Christian Brailey, covering sustainable timber specification and material futures.

Field Trips:
Experiential learning is a cornerstone of our delivery. Multi-day and single-day trips give participants a tangible understanding of timber and forest management, from growth and harvest to processing and building applications. We have curated field trips for Built By Nature, the Forestry Commission, and various architecture studios.

Public Speaking:
Engaging audiences at conferences and on panels, we share insights while fostering debate. Recent speaking engagements include events hosted by the Association of Sustainable Building Products, Institute of Chartered Foresters, Forestry Commission, and Royal Forestry Society.

Through these activities, we aim to make forestry and timber knowledge accessible, practical, and directly relevant, bridging academic learning with professional practice and hands-on experience.
